Seeking His Presence

Seeking His Presence

It is when I am down that I don’t understand

why things happen the way they do,

why my prayers are not answered

and things seem unchanged or renewed.

I try to remember to lean on your word

because in my heart I know it is true.

When my body is weak and my spirit lacks strength

When my soul cries out to You, and You speak,

It is then I must listen. It is then I must hear

for the voice of the Comforter;

His spirit is near, and His message is clear,

He says, “You have been humbled.

And you think, ‘there is no way

that things will be different. It’s just another day.’

But, there comes a new dawn when I will comfort you,

I will take away your pain, and bring you through.

You will rise above all those things you don’t understand,

and you will know my presence and you will shout,

and declare your healing to all who doubt.”

Notes: Scripture references found in the NIV Bible; Matthew 9:35, Proverbs 2:2-6 & 3:5&6, and II Corinthians 1:3&4 These scriptures are a comfort to me as I continue to struggle with an ongoing serious blood disorder, but it is my faith that enables me to believe for a complete healing, yet in God’s timing. Meanwhile, it has taught me patience and perseverance.
