I don’t place my trust…

I don’t place my trust in a party, or person of position or rank,

but in One empowered who rules by love.

I don’t look to government to decide my fate,

but to the One who knew me before my birth.

I don’t expect things from one who swears to grant

what I want, or what I need, for my future they cannot know.

I don’t worry what tomorrow brings,

or what I fail to see promised happen today,

for my life is held securely by One

who gave me life, and gives me hope.
